FOREIGN DELEGATES OF EGYPT CALL ON HCJP

A judicial delegation of Egypt judiciary headed by Hon'ble Mr. Justice Muhammad Abdel-Aziz Eshennawy, Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme Constitutional Court of Egypt and comprising on Hon’ble Mr. Justice Muhammad Khairy Abdel-Motteleb, Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme Constitutional Court of Egypt and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ragab Seleem, Head of the Commissioners’ Board of the Supreme Constitutional Court of Egypt called on the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan after the concluding session of the International Judicial Conference 2013 in Supreme Court, Islamabad today i.e. 21.04.2013.

Welcoming the delegation, Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan said “it is an honour to receive such a high level judicial delegation from Egypt. Exchange of delegations is always healthy and a good tradition to take advantages from each other’s experience and knowledge. As both countries are Muslim where Islamic laws are enforced therefore it is a good opportunity to share some experiences and reforms”.

The delegation of Egypt reciprocated the sentiments and said that they are inspired by the judgments rendered by the superior judiciary of Pakistan and role played by the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry. His bold and courageous stance in leading judiciary to strengthen rule of law, independence of judiciary are also beyond compare. Egyptian judiciary is also playing independent and impartial role and exercising power of judicial review. The delegation purposed an MOU for exchange of delegation and share of experiences and said that draft will be sent. They also congratulated the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan on successful arrangements of International Judicial Conference 2013 which provided a platform to share the experiences and to take advantage and learn from others wisdom and experience.

The Hon’ble Chief Justice extended his thanks and gratitude to the delegates for participating in the Judicial Conference which is arranged with view that this will greatly help in formulating innovative strategies for reforming judicial system in the country and making it responsive to the present-day requirements of the society. It will further enhance the cooperation amongst the judiciaries of the countries. The Hon’ble Chief Justice also presented shields and gifts to the delegates as a token of respect and gesture of goodwill.
