A 36 Member delegation of District Bar Associations, Sialkot, Pasroor and Daska headed by Malik Mushtaq Ahmed Khokhar, President, District Bar Association, Sialkot, Mr. Altaf Sohail, President, Pasroor Bar Association and Chaudhry Faqeer Saieen, President, Daska Bar Association  and comprising other office bearers and members of the Bars called on the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice. Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry today i.e. 20.05.2013 in Supreme Court, Islamabad .

Talking to the delegation, Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan said that Bar is an integral part of the judiciary which always plays an effective role for strengthening and supporting the judiciary. He admired the role of the legal fraternity in Lawyer’s Movement in which they stood firm during the Judicial Crises and struggled hard to bring rule of law in the society through peaceful efforts which strengthened the institution of judiciary and their struggle instilled in the people importance of the rule of law and supremacy of constitution in the country.
Appreciating the role played by young lawyers during the movement of restoration of judiciary the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan said that the young lawyers left no stone unturned and they put in their all out efforts for the cause of the independent judiciary. Talking about the issue of appointment of local commissioners, he said that local commissioners under National Judicial Policy have been appointed with view to train and facilitate the youngsters and to encourage them in the field of law.

The members of Bars appreciated struggle and efforts of the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan in the days of lawyers’ movement which is unique in the global history and informed him of their struggle and sacrifices in the movement and stated that he is an icon of constitutionalism and rule of law in country.

The delegation shared the hardships and problems faced by the legal fraternity and the litigant public. They requested that special courts, such as Anti-Corruption, Wapda Magistrate, etc should be established at Sialkot to facilitate the lawyers as well as litigants. The Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan assured them to take up the matter with concerned authorities.

The delegation assured the Hon’ble Chief Justice of their full support and cooperation. They expressed the hope that the administration of justice needs his bold and courageous leadership and motivation to deliver justice to the public at large. They invited the Hon’ble Chief Justice to visit District Bar Association, Sialkot , Pasroor Bar Association and Daska Bar Association. The Hon’ble Chief Justice conveyed his gratitude to them and promised to visit the said bars in the near future.
