SC REDRESSES THE GRIEVANCE IN HUMAN RIGHTS CASE

The Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry took Notice on application of Mr. Muhammad Imran R/o Jhang registered through Human Rights Cell of Supreme Court of Pakistan, Islamabad. The applicant stated that he is employee at a CNG station. He asked the accused Police officers to wait for their turn for filling CNG in Car, upon which the illegally detained him and tortured him. He requested for action against the accused Police officers.  

 

Taking the cognizance, the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan ordered that:

            “Report be obtained from PPO Punjab within a fortnight.”

 

            Complying with the above directions, PPO, Punjab, submitted report that:

 

“The allegations leveled by the applicant have been proved. On these charges, the RPO, Faisalabad has awarded the punishment to the delinquent Police Officer/Officials accordingly.”

 
 

As the grievance of the applicant has been redressed, the application was filed accordingly.
