FOREIGN DELEGATION OF NEPAL CALLS ON HCJP

A judicial delegation of Nepal judiciary headed by Hon'ble Mr. Keshari Raj Pandit, Chief Judge, Court of Appeal, Patan, Nepal and comprising Mr. Sunil Kumar Pokharel, Secretary General, Nepal Bar Association, Nepal, Mr. Shyam Kumar Bhattarai, Joint Government Attorney, Nepal, Mr. D.P. Bhandari, Counselor/Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Nepal, Islamabad, Mr. Shreekrishna Mulmi, Research Officer, National Judicial Academy, Nepal, Mr. Kedar Ghimire, Library Officer, National Judicial Academy, Nepal and Mr. Keshab Dahal, Finance Officer, National Judicial Academy, Nepal called on the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan in the Supreme Court, Islamabad today i.e. 20.06.2013. Registrar, Supreme Court of Pakistan and senior lawyers of Supreme Court Bar Association, Pakistan were also present at the occasion.

Welcoming the delegation, Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan said “it is an honour to receive such a high level judicial delegation from Nepal . Exchange of delegations is always healthy and a good tradition to take advantages from each other’s knowledge and reform of respective systems.”
The Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry further said that the object and purpose of all of us is to advance the cause of administration of justice. The bar is also equally important in the process of administration of justice.

The Chief Judge from Nepal reciprocated the sentiments and said that they are inspired by the superior judiciary of Pakistan and role played by the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry. He stated that they always quote the example of Chief Justice of Pakistan in their country. The Chief Judge, Court of Appeal, Patan , Nepal also informed the Chief Justice of Pakistan about their visit to Federal Judicial Academy . He apprised the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan about the judicial system of Nepal and told that they are organizing the regional conference for judicial trainers in Nepal . The Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan offered full support and cooperation from the Pakistan judiciary to make the conference a success.

The Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan introduced the judicial system of Pakistan to the delegation and informed them of the smooth transition of power under constitutional scheme through elections held on 11th May 2013. He expressed good wishes for the people and the judiciary of Nepal and success of democracy in all countries in accordance with their constitution.

The Hon’ble Chief Justice also presented shield to the delegates as a token of respect and gesture of goodwill.
