DELEGATIONS OF DIFFERENT BARS OF SINDH CALL ON HCJP

Delegations of different Bar Associations of Sindh including Sindh Bar Council, headed by Mahmood-ul-Hassan, and comprising other members, Sardar Akbar Ujjan, Member Executive Committee, Supreme Court Bar Association, District Bar Associations, Malir, Khairpur, Shikarpur, Sukkur, Thatta, Hyderabad, and Tehsil Bar Kandiaro (Naushero Feroz) headed by their presidents and comprising other office bearers, called on the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary today i.e. 19.09.2013 in Supreme Court Branch Registry, Karachi.

Talking to the delegations his lordship said "There is close nexus between Bench and Bar, therefore both should work hard for the cause of the Administration of justice". His lordship lauded the role played by the Bars of Sindh during the lawyers’ movement and said that legal fraternity has brought a change in the society by creating awareness amongst masses and as a result the masses are more assertive in the protection of their legal rights and prevalence of rule of law in the country.

The members of the Bars also appreciated the struggle and efforts of the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan during the days of lawyers’ movement which is unique in the global history and informed about their struggle and sacrifice during the days of the movement. The delegations also discussed with the Hon’ble Chief Justice, issues and matters of interest to the legal/judicial fraternity. They assured the Hon’ble Chief Justice of their full support and cooperation. They expressed the hope that the administration of justice needs his bold leadership and motivation to deliver justice to the public at large.
The delegations also lauded the role of superior judiciary in combating corruption in the country and enforcing the fundamental rights of people and providing relief to vulnerable segment of society. They said that the public have reposed great confidence in the judiciary. The delegations informed that the movement for rule of law, supremacy of Constitution and independence of judiciary instilled a new spirit and provided a common platform to lawyers to cooperate with one another for larger good of the society.

The office bearers requested to Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan visit to Dadu, Sukkar, Kandiaro and Malir. The Hon’ble Chief Justice accepted the invitation and said that he will visit the Bars to meet the members and discuss issues and problems faced by them for the administration of justice to ensure the expeditious disposal of cases.
