DELEGATION OF HYDERABAD HIGH COURT BAR CALLS ON HCJP

Delegation of Hyderabad High Court Bar Association headed by its General Secretary Mr Ayaz Ali Tunio and comprising other office bearers called on the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary today i.e.31.10.2013 in Supreme Court Branch Registry, Karachi.

Talking to the delegation his lordship said “There is close nexus between Bench and Bar, therefore both should work hard for the cause of the Administration of justice”. His lordship lauded the role played by the Bars of Sindh during the lawyers’ movement and said that legal fraternity has brought a change in the society by creating awareness amongst masses and as a result the masses are more assertive in the protection of their legal rights and prevalence of rule of law in the country.

The members of the Bar also appreciated the HCJP’s struggles and efforts in the days of lawyers’ movement which is unique in the global history and informed about their struggle and sacrifice during the days of the movement. The delegation also discussed with the Chief Justice, issues and matters of interest to the legal/judicial fraternity. The delegation discussed the issue of shortage of judges at High Court of Sindh. They also requested his lordship for arranging training for lawyers at Federal Judicial Academy Islamabad. The Hon’ble Chief Justice accepted their request and it was agreed that federal Judicial Academy Islamabad will impart one week training to the lawyers during the first week of November.

The delegation assured the Hon’ble Chief Justice of their full support and cooperation. They expressed the hope that the administration of justice needs his bold leadership and motivation to deliver justice to the public at large. They also invited his lordship to visit Hyderabad Bar. The Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan conveyed his gratitude, extended his thanks and assured to visit them in suitable time.
