HCJP ISSUES DIRECTIONS IN DIFFERENT HUMAN RIGHTS CASES

The Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani took Notice on News Item appeared in section of media dated 21.12.2013 that a 12 years old girl was raped by neighbours in Karachi. The Press clippings further stated that the girl was subjected to rape when she was standing outside her house during power failure and was abducted and raped.

The Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani taking the notice has issued following direction:

 

“Report be called from the Inspector General of Police Sindh as to the progress made in the FIR registered with regard to the rape of a 12 year old girl. The report should be submitted within 48 hours”.

 

 Meanwhile, Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani took another notice on news item published in section of media dated 21.12.2013 (today) regarding the non-arrest of the culprits of minor girl Sumbel in Lahore city despite of lapse of 100 days. The news item further stated that police have neither identified nor arrested the culprits. Moreover it is pertinent to mention here that the above case of rape had already been registered in Human Rights Cell Supreme Court. Therefore after going through the record/reports of police submitted in this HRC case. Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani has passed following order:

 

“IGP Punjab be directed to appear in court on 24.12.2013”.
