The General Elections 2013 Inquiry Commission held hearing today, on 23-04-2015 and has been pleased to pass the following orders:-


“In compliance with the direction given on the last date NADRA has submitted its report. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has also responded to the application/proposals filed on behalf of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The PTI has filed CMA No.6 of 2015 IN GEICD No. 12 of 2015 providing a list of witnesses that it wishes to examine. It has also filed GEICD No.28 of 2015 seeking direction to the ECP to seal and preserve all the election material relating to the General Elections of 2013. Mr. Salman Akram Raja, learned ASC appearing on behalf of the ECP gave his undertaking that the material will be secured and preserved. Certain allegations have been made against PML(N) in GEICD No.12 and by the Jamat-e-Islami Pakistan in GEICD No.26/15 against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). It will therefore be necessary to issue notices to the said political parties who shall file their responses, if they so desire, by 25.04.2015 noon. Any other party who wishes to have any witness examined by the Commission should furnish the list by 25.04.2015 and by such date file any additional document if they so desire. It may however be clarified that it will be for the Commission to decide as to which of the witnesses may be called to testify considering their relevance to the terms of reference.


2.           On the next date all the political parties who have presented the proposals shall assist the Commission on the modalities to be adopted for further proceeding with the matter. Mr. Aitzaz Ahsan, learned Sr. ASC appearing on behalf of PPP(P) has submitted a proposal which shall be provided to the other political parties. The proceedings are adjourned to 27.04.2015 at 1.00 pm.”


In compliance with the above order of the Commission any party who wishes to have any witness examined by the Commission and would like to file any additional document should furnish the same by 25.04.2015.
