Federal Judicial Academy

INTRODUCTION

Federal Judicial Academy was established under a Government Resolution in September, 1988. It functioned at different locations in Islamabad till the completion of its present campus in 1994 at H-8/4, Islamabad. A legal cover to the organization and functioning of the Academy was provided with the enforcement of Federal Judicial Academy Act, 1997.

AIMS AND OBJECTS

  • Orientation and training of new judges, magistrates, law officers and court personnel;
  • In- service training and education of judges, magistrates, law officers, court personnel;
  • Holding of conferences, seminars, workshops and symposia for improvement of the judicial system and quality of judicial work; and
  • Publishing of journals, memoirs, research papers and reports;

MANAGEMENT & CONTROL

For general supervision of the affairs of the Academy and the achievement of its aims and objects, a Board of Governors has been constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Justice of Pakistan. The management of the Academy is carried on under the general directions of the Board, by the Director General who is the Principal Accounting Officer as well as academic and administrative head of the Federal Judicial Academy.
